Conscious Discipline

What is Conscious Discipline?

Conscious Discipline is a trauma-informed, adult-first methodology that integrates SEL, school culture and discipline in order to create collaborative learning communities that support all members in reaching their highest potential.

Why do we use it?

Here in Charles County Public Schools, our staff has been trained to use Conscious Discipline in the classroom setting. We utilize this form of discipline to help teach children of all ages how to regulate their emotions to resolve conflict. Fortunately for our families, Conscious Discipline can be used both in a classroom setting and at home! To learn how we apply emotionally regulatory strategies in the classroom, take a look at these resources. you can even try them yourself!
